Scrap auction fetches Rs.10.59 crore to Waltair division of ECoR

Visakhapatnam The Waltair Division in the East Coast Railway has initiated several new ways through the sale of unserviceable materials (scrap) released from various activities of the railways during the pandemic time.
The Materials Management Department has worked out relentlessly to segregate the unused & unserviceable materials in the division. On Wednesday it sold the scrap which fetched Rs.10.59 crore -highest revenue in a single auction.
The remarkable performance could be achieved under the leadership of P.B. Ninave, Chief Principal Materials Manager, ECoR with guidance of Anup Kumar Satpathy, Divisional Railway Manager and KB Tirupataiah Senior Divisional Materials Manager of Waltair Division,
The division did a lot of exercise to achieve the accomplishment. The Materials Management Department identified all the scrap lying along the track lines and workshops. Within a short span of time, after segregating the scrap, the auction was carried out online.
